My Students

Going beyond the text book and studying literature is important to students learning and maximizing education. Students need to be able to read, reference, and discuss topics that are meaningful in order to maximize their learning potential.

The students are eager to learn and motivated to succeed.

They want to dig deeper into the topics they are studying. They sense that the text book does not fully cover a topic. The information comes alive when permitted to explore it. Using different sources of literature helps to inspire the students to make this deeper connection. Watching a student genuinely excited and engaged in meaningful reading and discussion is truly special.

My Project

The students crave knowledge and want to dig deep into a topic with natural curiosity. There is incredible value using various resources like these selections. It allows students to team up, read, share ideas, and consume incredible amounts of knowledge using an information rich and streamlined resource. This compilation of literature is closely correlated with the standards that the students are challenged to learn in Social Studies and Science throughout their fifth grade school year. They need to practice the skills of reading different books to gain information. Please help to feed this hunger for meaningful learning!

Limiting knowledge to just a text book means that students are not reaching their full potential.

We need to fuel the hunger and meet their intellectual demands to help the students succeed. Using the analysis of literature to deepen understanding should not be underestimated as they lay their educational foundation. I have experienced great success with the limited selection available to me on an every day basis. I feel that having resources like these will help to accomplish this mission.
