My Students

As a special education teacher each day in my classroom can be quite different. During the morning we have three different small groups that work in our classroom. We also have an individual student who works one on one with an aide. The classroom is constant movement and learning.

Each of their personalities are so unique, but they have learned to work together and embrace their differences to appreciate and help each other learn.

Students with autism have to overcome many hurdles before their day even begins. The small groups each morning help set the tone for the day.

My Project

The tactile sensory manipulatives like puzzles and counters will be used each morning in small groups. Fine motor skills are essential skills to develop strength and coordination. Dry erase markers help promote handwriting skills and letter recognition. Velcro is used to make independent sensory stations.

My students would greatly benefit from these manipulatives.

These donations will open a new world of possibilities for my students. This will increase their love and ability to learn.
