This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

About My Students

I'm very excited at how my students really want to see their essays in published form. Mya and Jayla, two of my students who come from military families, both think it would be great if writing pieces could be printed in the classroom after they are completed.

We recently ran out of ink in our classroom. My students wanted to print their published essays, but they could not because we were simply out of this necessary supply. Jayla and Mya created a student-led project recently, so they thought they should write another one so that our class can acquire this necessity.

This project is asking for toner, which would allow my students to print out their essays that resulted from the writing process. Therefore, this project is related to the academic skill of following the writing process: planning, writing, revising, editing and publishing. Since students revise and edit their peers' essays, the social-emotional skill of teamwork is involved in this project. This project will certainly help my students become college and career ready.

In Their Own Words

We work very hard at going through the writing process and producing a finished product. To celebrate our hard work, we simply want to print out the final drafts of our essays. Our printer ran out of toner, so we need your help!

Our teacher guides us along the writing process, but it's up to us to produce a great writing piece by putting forth a strong effort. There would not be anything to print if we don't put in the hard work. The great news is that we do work hard! We're always willing to try our best to create the best essays. We just need your help so that we can print out our finished product!

The problem is simple: We aren't able to print out our essays because we are out of ink! Our peers should be able to print out their hard work so that they could impress their parents. Imagine if you worked for 6 weeks on an essay and you wouldn't even be able to share it with your loved ones! It's an awful feeling. We want to be able to celebrate our hard work. Please help us with this project!
