My Students

There is nothing better for a student than to be actively engaged in material. Social Studies is one of those subjects that the students need to get their hands dirty in. They need materials that they can touch and see.

My students are very interested in our history.

However, they lack the materials to satisfy their curiosity. They always ask for me to try and pull up a picture to see on the Internet. My school is a Title I school with about 80% free and reduced. Funding is restricted to Math and Reading; therefore, Social Studies gets put on the back burner.

My Project

Your donation will help to purchase materials that will be engaging for the students. Their learning will grow as they engage themselves with the materials. I am requesting ready-to-use resource boxes that have everything you need to boost social studies knowledge & encourage hands-on explorationâ€Â"from realistic props and high-interest reading passages to helpful maps, charts & more! Each box focuses on a specific social studies topic...and comes packed with reading comprehension folders, writing prompt cards and information-filled photo cards. You even get manipulatives, games, 3-D models & moreâ€Â"to bring each topic to life! Each box includes a 28-page guide filled with activities & reproducibles. The five boxes explorer the American Revolution, Early Explorers, Westward Movement, US Government, and US Regions. I am also requesting a Social Studies Literature pack that includes 5 sets of exploration paperback books specially selected to support our Social Studies Resource Boxes - Gr. 4-5.

There is nothing better than to see my students learning.

These materials will help them grow as students as well as historians. The material requested will keep my students engaged in learning and hopefully create little historians.
