My Students

If there was a tool that had a proven track record for improving teaching and learning in the classroom, wouldn't it be unfair if all students did not have access to it?

My students have worked very hard to bring up their test scores.

Against ALL odds, some of my students come to school everyday on time, ready to learn. I feel that for many students, education is their only way out of the poverty that exists in their world. Unfortunately, that poverty extends to the school as well. Our school needs more technological resources that could be used to aid instruction. Last year, we entered the Future City Competition, which is sponsored by the National Engineers Association. We won two specialty awards. We are entering again this year, and that is what inspired me to apply for this grant. It is sad to me that as they learn about the technological advances made in the last decade, they are not able to benefit from them.

My Project

There are many educational benefits to using smart boards in an educational setting. This reader friendly site: http://www.waukeshaschools.com/WIT/smartBoard/benefits.htm presents them in detail. I have a Master's degree in educational technology and I would be able to fully utilize this tool to make my educational objectives more accessible to my students.

I know I am asking for a major purchase.

If I could afford it, I would buy it myself, but for some people, this is a small amount. A small cost to pay to make educational objectives more attainable for students whose only chance in life is a good education. Thank you
