Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

No child is the same. Each one learns at their own pace and in a small group environment each child can be given the personal attention they deserve.

My wonderful students are yearning to learn.

In first grade everything is a new experience which they are quick to absorb. Our school is quite small with 95% of our children qualifying for free lunch. What our students and families lack in funds they make up for in heart and effort as they want to reach their educational goals.

My Project

The materials which I have requested will help my students during small group time. Most of my first graders are on the brink of fluent reading and they each need individualized attention to help them reach their reading goals. I have requested a magnetic easel which I can use to conduct small group lessons along with seats for the students and magnetic letters which they can help me place to form words. These materials will be a great asset in helping my students reach their reading goals!

My project is very important for my students as each child has specific reading difficulties and during small group time I can attend to each child's individual reading needs.

In particular I have never had a stand-up white board which I can use to help small groups of students attain their reading goals. These materials would make such a difference for my class! Thank you!!!!
