Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Bilingual Spanish first grade teacher in a Title I School with a large At-Risk (Economically Disadvantaged and English Language Learners) student population. I am always looking for ways to enhance classroom and time management as well as student organization.

This grant money would be used by my first grade class to purchase 25 "At-Your-Seat Storage Sacks".

These organizational storage units slip onto the back of each student's chair and would hold workbooks, journals, supplies, and whiteboards. These "At-Your-Seat Storage Sacks" would improve classroom and materials management and would encourage each student to be responsible for their personal supplies. We also need five minute and ten minute timers to improve time management skills.

My Project

Without pocket organizers, the students need to wait in line to retrieve materials from cubbies, which are located in the back of the classroom. The "At-Your-Seat Storage Sacks" would eliminate congestion and add valuable academic time. Learning to be organized and personally responsible for materials is an important part of first grade.

First grade is an important year.

We build the foundation necessary for academic and personal success. We build confidence and instill a love of learning. Here is your opportunity to assist my students with organizational skills and time management. I thank you in advance for supporting my students.
