Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a 100% free breakfast and lunch school. Many of my students live in very high poverty. I strive each day to create a clean, comfortable, and colorful learning environment for my students, because for many of them, school is the safest and most comfortable place they visit each day.

I teach a class of 20 amazing first graders.

They are excited to come to school each day. They are working very hard each day to become better readers, writers, and problem solvers. I want nothing more than for each of them to become lifelong learners!

My Project

By adding a beautiful, comfortable, and colorful rug to our learning environment, I hope to inspire even more excitement and joy for learning in my classroom. I hope to create a better environment for my students to enjoy listening to and reading stories, learning about numbers and mathematical concepts, and discovering new and exciting information about the world around them.

The parents of my students are very hard working and do their best to supply what they can to their children's classroom and education, but are unable to go above and beyond basic uniform clothing, and school supplies.

In a time where education funding is hard to come by, the greater, outside community of resources is the best attempt my students and I have to help better our classroom environment. Please consider supporting my wonderful first graders this year, and for years to come!
