My Students

Help us learn about energy and share our knowledge with others! Our students would love to learn more about different types of energies and this can be done by using these great resources.

Our students are members of an after school science club and were selected for this club based on their high math and science test scores.

They are all intelligent children and are good problem solvers. Our club is called Ecubed and the learning focuses on energy, engineering, and earth matters. Our school is located in a rural area in South Carolina and is extremely high poverty. These students would greatly benefit from participation in this project - not only will they learn about energy, but they will also learn about technology. Due to their low income, this is something that they are not exposed to often in their homes.

My Project

These resources, including books and netbooks will be used to help our students research alternative forms of energy. After researching, they will interview each other using the camcorders and these interviews will be used to inform the other students in the school about energy on our morning show. The students will also use the netbooks to help them create a newsletter that will be sent home. The newsletter will be used to inform parents about the club happenings and provide information about saving energy in their homes. These resources will provide our students with the opportunity to learn about alternative energy sources and acquire more knowledge about using computers and computer software. Our school does not currently have any laptops or netbooks available for our students.

Your support of this project will allow underprivileged students opportunities to learn that they would not otherwise have.

They will be able to acquire new knowledge and impart this knowledge to other students as well. Your support will help impact all of our students and parents by providing them with information about conservation of energy.
