This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Dance is the hidden language of the soul" Martha Graham. I am trying to develop a dance program and am trying to help my students find there hidden language, through dance. We need to have music to do this.

My students (my team) are a combination of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in the inner city, where most of them come from economically challenged families.

We are beginner team, not only in skill but as well as in existence. I am trying to give the team a true dance experience and allow them to be a team. We have practices where we do combinations and technique. The team has a lot of heart and desire to dance. They truly want to be at practices and performances, but we have to share facilities and a lot of times are without a system to play our music or a place to have practice.

My Project

My team having portable sound system will allow us to have practice anywhere. Allow us to have the music to practice no matter where we end up in the school. The team will be able to practice their routines and work on them. The team can have their music to perfect their skills as they practice.

I hope that you can help my students(my team).

Help them become a better team and continue the art of dance/movement. Help them find their hidden language so that they can speak volumes through dance.
