My Students
I am excited and inspired by music and I want my students to continue to be inspired as well.
My students are from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The school represents over 100 area codes in the Los Angeles area. We have students coming from far and wide to attend this school and the students reflect the varying history and background of Los Angeles.
My Project
We are looking to expand our drum experience at the school. I am planning on starting a new project involving the boomwhackers and the desk bells. On top of that I would like the concert bands at the schools to be exposed to a wider variety of music so I would like to have a full drum set to be used not only by the jazz band but also by the concert band. This will allow the students to play music in a wider range of styles.
These donations will help every student in the band program. The students will be able to experience works by more composers because of the percussion equipment. They will also be able to be more creative with use of the boomwhackers. The students will also be able to play more contemporary music using the drum set in class.
