My students need engaging learning centers, like those based on measurement, money, multiplication, time, so we can differentiate instruction and hit all remaining math objectives!

My Students

Second grade is the building block for all essential math skills down the line. In our second half of the year, we will be focusing on skills like telling time, counting money, and measurements... ones that they will have to use in the real world!

My amazing students attend a public school in rural Mississippi.

They LOVE hands-on activities, and vary widely in ability level. Some students could already excel in a 3rd or 4th grade classroom, and some are still working hard to remediate missing first grade skills.

My Project

These resources will allow me to break my students down into small math groups. By having engaging, independent learning centers, I can focus on a small group (where my students excel the most!) All of the materials will be focused on groups who are missing skills or as "center" activities for the skills that we are doing that week. With these fun math games and activities, my extremely kinetic students will be able to have fun while learning math!

The resources here will not just help students master second grade math skills.

They are all very important life skills. Most of our second semester will be spent on telling time, counting money, and measuring. Some of the other activities are focused on presenting old material to students in a new way to help them master skills that they may have missed. Please help my students become better mathematicians AND citizens!
