My Students

Science is a verb. It requires doing. My students have a hard time "doing" because we lack any hands-on materials that we can use during science lessons.

My students are curious and interested in learning about all subjects.

They think of school as a safe place where they can explore and learn. Our school is in a low income area and although we attempt to provide a top education to all students, it is hard to match other schools in the area that can provide their students with lavish educational materials.

My Project

My students would be beyond thrilled with this complete science kit. The kit is full of hands-on materials and directions for experiments. Everything from tweezers to magnets are included, allowing the students to experience what it would be like to be a real scientist. This kit includes six topics that match the same topics we are required to teach such as the solar system, plants and animals. My students are thrilled by all science topics and this kit would give them experiences I could not provide for them on my own.

With so many jobs in the science field, my hope is create future scientists.

Science time has been put on the back burner in schools lately to allow more time for math and reading. This kit would allow me the freedom to incorporate science education into our math and reading time so my students get the best education possible.
