This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For my kiddos, language routines are first, as many are practicing English for the first time. We say 'good morning' to each other, the teachers, the backpack bear, and animals around the room. Later, we'll get active games like marching on the colors and animal yoga emotions!

My students are awesome!

They are excited about learning and ready to discover new things! The majority of my students are Spanish speakers and soon to be English speakers as well. They love to learn by cooperating. New and exciting materials spur them on to lots of conversations that lead to even more language learning. With dynamic projects and materials, these kids can learn so much in the one short year they join us for preschool.

My Project

The science materials will be used in thematic units to explore concepts that would otherwise be difficult to explain. Using STEM-based materials, these kiddos will explore concepts like magnetism with various sizes and strengths of magnets, motion with ramps, spheres, and mini-vehicles of various sizes, and sea animals through realia and categorization cards. In this brief space, it is impossible to explain all the activities and materials included in each of the kits. Suffice it to say, they are numerous and amazing, and are sure to help these kiddos get off to on the right foot to become future scientists, techies, engineers, and mathematicians.

For children who don't normally have access to expensive museums, summer camps, and extensive travel, the activities we give them in preschool to help them build science knowledge is absolutely essential.

With these engaging materials, and an expert teacher to guide these children's exploration, lives will be changed and career paths launched.
