My Students

Bring the rainforests, deserts, arctic, jungles, grasslands and prairies to our classroom!! Help us to explore different biomes and how these climates impact the animals that live there.

I am a first grade teacher in a large urban area.

My students are from a low economic area and need extra support in all academic and social areas. My students are fun, active, and excited about learning. Their enthusiasm to explore science projects is contagious.

My Project

My classroom lacks the tools and non fiction texts my students need. My students are hands on learners. The Science on the Go Workshop will provide 9 lessons from the museum. Each lesson will target a different animal habitat and how the changes in seasons will affect the animals. The museum guest will provide books, lessons, and hands on activities, as well as providing a workshop to further enhance my understanding.

My students crave education.

They want to be successful. All they need is the right tools and guidance to do so. Many of my students do not read books outside of school. These tools will further their understanding of habitats, animals, and how to read non fiction texts.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
