Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A school counselor serves many students, from prekindergarten to sixth grade. Social-emotional learning equips students to identify their emotions. Identifying emotions is the first step in learning coping mechanisms to control students' reactions. Students dealing with their feelings will lead to a safe and welcoming classroom environment.
Talking about emotions can be challenging for students of all ages.
Books, fidgets, and workbooks give school counselors the tools to engage students in lessons about their feelings. Presenting emotions in different ways by using playdough or playing a board game allows students to become vulnerable and open up.
