My young students need ink pads, coloring paper, log builders, big bolt construction sets, and block play people, which were lost during Hurricane Sandy. The Red Hook community, where our school is located, was devastated.
Children are our future! Please help my inner city students have the same opportunity as others. We have been displaced by this hurricane, and they do not have electricity, hot water or heat.
Our class is a dual language class and the children come to school so happy to be in our classroom.
They are eager to learn, and we are teaching acceptance, respect and how to nurture friendships regardless where you come from. We have created a loving culture in our classroom. We lack some materials that could make a big difference in a child's life. Please help.
My Project
These materials were lost due to Hurricane Sandy and our school can not replace them. Our children need to work with materials that can learn them through play due to their young age. The students learn sharing, compassion and understanding for other which is so important in human beings.
Please help our young learners continue to enjoy school when we return to our building!
Your help will make a difference in so many little lives. Some of these children are also displaced from their homes and separated from their parents.
