Dr. Seuss once said: "ÃÂÃÂThe more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." This is so true and my students are just beginning their journeys through reading.
My class is made up of 22 very excited 5 year olds who love to come to school and learn new things.
They come from a low-income, rural area of South Carolina, but are very eager to learn new things. They attend a large elementary school which houses pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
My Project
These leveled reader sets will help my students by giving the students books that are on each child's individual level. Since each child will be able to read one of the books, they will each experience the joy of reading. Leveled readers allow each child to read without becoming frustrated because a book is too difficult or too easy for him or her. These books also give students a larger variety of topics to read about.
Donations to this project will help my students to become better readers and prepare them to be better students and learners throughout their lives.
They will have the opportunity to do better in school because they will have achieved success with reading early in their school years.
