My students are a group of vivacious kindergarteners who are just beginning to discover the wonders of reading.

They love story time and curling up with books in our classroom library. My students come from low economic backgrounds, where most families struggle to provide necessities for them. It is my goal to help them understand that the path to their future lies on the pillars of a solid education and to provide them with daily opportunities to dream of a promising life for themselves.

My Project

Learning to read is one of the most important skills for children to develop in the primary grades. As we know, successful readers tend to become effective learners as these skills transfer across the curriculum. Research has established the important role of read-aloud in improving children's reading skills. The big books,story kits and books on Cd's that I am requesting for this project will help my students to continue increasing their reading and language skills and support their growth as learners.

I wish for nothing more than to provide my students with the the same wonderful opportunities and education that I had as a child, their success is my goal.

I love each and every one of my kids and hope to instill my love of learning in them.
