Recycle With Kindergarten- Caring About Earth Starts Early

My Students

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." Dr. Seuss said, and this quote describes my energetic, recycling students. They started with a few bottles and they can't stop. It is wonderful.

My kindergarten students are energetic children who enjoy learning, but unfortunately do not have access to a lot of the tools other children get to enjoy.

Our school is an urban, public school in a low-income area. My students are in a poorer area of Michigan, but they are capable of doing great things if given the opportunity. My students have a tremendous thirst for knowledge and they make teaching fun for me daily. Our school incorporates diversity and several types of activities. Getting resources my students would not normally see is one of my main goals. I want them to experience as much as possible while with me and at our school.

My Project

With these recycling materials, my students will be able to continue caring for the Earth and learn more about recycling. My students currently put their empty bottles in a container we have in the classroom. Actually having a recycling bin, a Lorax book, a going green book, earth DVD, science DVD, and a dinosaur plant kit will make their chosen jobs even more exciting. These kids are really geared up to take care of their Earth. You can make a huge difference in the lives of my students by supporting this project. I can see the smiles in their eyes and on their faces already. The students will also enjoy their "I helped save the planet" pencils. They will also be able to link recycling with many of their science lessons. You can help make a difference. We appreciate you.

You will make it possible for my students to learn and become even "greener." You can make the difference from garbage and waste to recycling, reducing and reusing.
