Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help my students get excited about spelling and learning new words. We need tools to explore, play, and practice our literacy skills in a fun and meaningful way.

My first grade students are second language learners who are energetic and eager to learn.

We are a Title 1 School and most of our students are on free or reduced lunch. My students do not have many opportunities outside of the classroom to practice essential literacy skills.

My Project

Help me set up my literacy centers with activities that will allow my students to practice their reading, writing, and spelling in a variety of ways. My students will use the building blocks and twist and turn cubes to practice their weekly spelling words and unit sight words in a small group setting. They will use the magnetic letters and the word family sliders to practice and manipulate spelling patterns. They will be practicing important literacy skills while playing phonics based games. Having FUN while learning? What an interesting concept!

Help me create balanced literacy centers that promote reading, writing, and spelling.
