My Students

In today's world of video games and hand-held devices, students are used to interactive activities. In order to keep students engaged in the classroom, I need engaging activities to help them learn to comprehend what they read in an interesting manner.

My students attend a small, rural school in Ohio.

We have been blessed with newer technology the past couple of years, including a SMART Board. I have seen my students eager to learn with our current materials. I know they would be even more excited if we added to our slowly growing library of materials so that all standards can be taught in an interactive manner!

My Project

The materials I am requesting are all interactive, either technologically or manipulatively. With these materials, I will have an interactive method of teaching, practicing, and reinforcing every reading standard that needs to be taught to my fourth grade students!

During this last year, the first with my SMART Board, I have seen my students' interest level rise greatly!

Our hands on learning games are also making learning more fun! Students always ask if we have reading centers, even though our weekly schedule rarely deviates from the norm and they know when centers are coming! They love to work with our interactive materials and I have seen their comprehension across all areas of reading rise! Seeing students eagerly working while learning their skills is rewarding to everyone!
