My Students

My students enjoy reading many genres and its hard to accommodate all their needs at hand. Having a Nook e-reader will make this dream a reality. They will be able to view all genres in seconds right in the palms of their tiny hands.

I teach 20 eager 2nd graders in a Title 1 school.

My students all receive free lunch. The school is located in a high poverty, urban area where technology isn't as accessible to most. Reading is something my students actually quest and enjoy in all subject areas. Going to neighboring libraries for additional texts to share within the classroom is somewhat difficult for students.

My Project

Having a multitude of genres in the classroom will allow all students success in reading. Many struggle because they don't want to read the same text over and over. Having the technology of a Nook e-reader will provide the students with the possibility of reading varieties of genres in seconds. They will be excited and yearn to read more. Students on all levels will benefit by strengthening their reading skills from using this tool in the classroom.

By donating a Nook e-reader will allow all my students the possibility to use technology to aide in increasing their reading skills.

Reading is an essential skill that is needed and used in all subject areas. This will help all the students in the classroom to be successful readers.
