My Students

Do your remember sitting in school and seeing the things that everyone else had and felt left out. At our Title I school students see advertisements every day for digital tablets that people are reading on and feel this way.

We are a Title I school that is very diverse academically and ethnically.

Our students are very animated and love to read, but lack the materials to move them forward in the 21st century. Students get enthused about new things that are introduced, and having this will allow us not only to help our students but also to bring families together to share the love of reading.

My Project

This tablet will be used for students to take home and read books with their family. The students will be able to use this to read digital books and get them ready for the future in which almost everything is digital. This will also help build their literacy skills, bring families together to read, and help to start conversations about what students are learning at school with their families through the books.

This is important so that our students can engage in technology that they will use in the future and build their literacy skills.

Our students lack that bond between school and home; this will help build that bond and help parents see what they are learning, and have discussions that will increase the comprehension of skills.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
