Quilts of Love: From Bullying To Giving

My students need these supplies, like a rotary cutter and cutting mat, plus fabric and markers, to work on quilts for Foster students in the counties around us.

My Students

Do you remember going to school and people bullying you? The Chain Link Club is going to discover the art of sewing quilting with the benefit of giving as well.

The Chain Link CLub is part of the Rachel's Challenge.

This club focuses on other people and passing kindness to others. The Club meets on Wednesday and at special times. The students try to practice this in a variety of ways like.. to other students, community, elders, and needy.. The quilts will be given to Foster kids when the child is removed from the home. It will be one thing that the child will be able to keep through this experience.

My Project

The students will use the pens to draw on fabric with wax paper to seal the picture into the muslin fabric. The students will use the scissors, cutter rotary and mat to cut fabric. The embroidery floss will tie the quilts together. The students will need many supplies but this is a start to the project.

The students will learn the art of working hard to make a quilt and then the privilege to give it to someone who is experiencing hard times.

The students will be working in a group, individual, and organizing to complete each quilt. This project is working on donations only since all the cut backs at the school budgets. The demand of quilts is large and so is the need to many supplies. This project will continue from year to year as long as the supplies keep coming to the club.
