My Students

"Education is the movement from darkness to light." -Allan Bloom I am a first year teacher with 23 fifth graders. They attend school in an area of Central Florida with one of the highest levels of poverty. The school consists of students with diverse backgrounds, struggles, and exceptionalities.

My students come to school excited to start each new day.

They come through my door with learning disabilities, ADD, and numerous other disorders. They come in financially disadvantaged in a way no student ever should. Despite all of this, though, they come in excited to learn. They come in with passion that can not be described using letters on a keyboard. They accomplish more than any lesson plans can hold. They complete every task I give them even when it seems impossible for them at the moment. They came in on the first day as sprouting buds and are going to leave on the last day producing fruit so plentiful that they will be able to accomplish anything they set their minds to. I am proud and lucky to be their teacher this year.

My Project

My students desperately need a printer as the one we have is no longer functional. They need it in order to print their published products which are final essays they write at the end of every literary unit we do. They also need to be able to print the components to their science projects. With this in mind they also need ink and paper in order to make it happen. My last, and what may seem like a small request, is pencils. As we have ventured throughout the year they have used up every single pencil they and myself own. They desperately need these pencils to help them accomplish their tasks..

Your donations will allow the things that my students and I do in our classroom on a daily basis possible.

These items are the tools that my students need in order to flourish and continue to be successful. Without them the climb to the top will continue to be ever steep.
