My classroom is a warm and inviting environment where students are actively involved in the learning process. The challenges of maintaining this engaging classroom is to be able to continuously provide activities and materials to meet the needs of all my students.
My school is in a suburban area and made up of a diverse population.
We have students from several different cultures and countries in our school. Many of the students begin and end this level of their education here; thus, we have a fairly stable population and often all the children in families are educated here. My class consists of students who are Special Education students, English Language Learners, Gifted students, and students who receive no additional support or services.
My Project
The materials, iPads, will provide my students with opportunities to incorporate today's technology in their learning. Students can complete assignments and activities specifically created or designed to meet their individual needs. Integrating technology into the instructional program is a way to engage students in lessons. This technology will be used to introduce content, allow students to investigate concepts, research information, practice skills and self-assess progress. By providing lessons and activities that are engaging and individualized, students make the learning their own. Students will be able to use a variety of tools and programs to demonstrate their knowledge and learning.
This project will help me design lessons and provide instruction that focuses on the individual needs of each student.
Engaging the students in learning and individualizing their instruction will deepen their understanding and help them gain the skills and knowledge they will need as they continue their education. Using the iPads consistently will also provide students with the opportunity to learn and develop their technology skills, preparing them for the future.
