This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Say cheese, please! My K-3 students with Autism are extremely excited to learn about artists and the many mediums that masterpieces are made of. A strong interest in photography has surfaced. As an ELA/Art teacher it is important for me to assist my students to foster these artistic desires.

My students with Autism live in an area of poverty.

They struggle with communication, though express a deep passion for photography. Being able to give these students the opportunity to bring such passion into a reality is a goal of any teacher. Please give them a chance to see the world through the lens of a camera.

My Project

My students are in need of materials, such as cameras and photo paper, to take a "shot" at expression through photography. They are going to be taken out on field trips in the community, as well as in the school environment, studying how the community functions, emotions, and nature. The cameras and other supplies will enable the students to take a "snapshot" of the world around them. They are visual modality/tactile learners who comprehend best when the visuals are realistic.

Your generosity will serve as a means for express and understanding of the world surrounding young students with Autism.
