"It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education." - Albert Einstein In the midst of state testing my students need some food for creative thoughts! Help us reopen the creative part of our brain by giving us a chance to read one of the most imaginative books around.

I have a class of 25 eager to learn students who have fallen in love with novels (even if they won't admit it).

This is a rare find in the area that I teach. It is not uncommon to find a fifth grader who has never completed a chapter book, I am excited to say that my fourth graders are currently working on finishing their third class novel of the year. Finishing these novels has inspired many of my students to read even more chapter books. I am proud to say that several of my students can be seen around the building reading a novel at every free moment. Please help my students and their love of reading grow more than I ever thought it could!

My Project

Throughout the year my class has read several realistic and historical fiction novels, now we are ready to read a fantasy novel and get back to using our imaginations! I want my students to remember what it is like to be a kid and use their imaginations rather than always taking everything so seriously. An imagination should not be a hard thing to find in a kid, yet it is almost impossible to find in my students. Please help them reopen their imaginations!

This project will not only help my students continue their steady comprehension growth and knowledge of reading a novel, but also open their minds back up to using creativity.

They always think inside the box. This novel will help them think outside of the box and use their imaginations to become better thinkers and problem solvers.
