Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Creating a research project should be enjoyable as well as educational. However, this is challenging to students when your plan is hindered by a lack of color printer ink.
My students have chosen Marine Science as their educational pathway.
Thus they are learning about the world around them and how they can become stewards of the environment. we are a Title I which means many of my students come to school without breakfast and with only the basic supplies. But they come with a desire to learn and a passion for our world.
My Project
When my students create a project, they want it to be beautiful as well as factual and informative. But they need color pictures for that. My students will be using the ink to print color pictures for use on their research projects: posters detailing the plight of an individual endangered animal. We also use colored pictures in our journals and bird survey guides, as well as other research projects. Many of my students do not have access to color printers, so they need to print in class.
When my students are proud of their work, they put more effort into it.
Having color ink for our printer will allow them to dream a little bit larger and stand a little bit taller as they present their research.
