My Students

"Mrs. D., can I play Letter Fall on Spelling City?" "Can I type a story with my spelling list on Spelling City?" "Can I watch that video on the Earth's core on BrainPop?" I have to say "no" every time. My students need a premium membership to access these activities.

My students are absolutely digital natives in every sense of the phrase!

If it can be done on the computer, they want to do it. Well, we have found some resources to help us in so many of our academic subjects. These resources currently allow us some access, but there is so much more we could do if we could purchase subscriptions to the sites.

My Project

The resources that we would like to gain more access to are Vocabulary/Spelling City and BrainPop. Vocabulary/Spelling City allows my students to practice our weekly spelling and vocabulary lists online. They can play games, take tests, and track their weekly progress individually. BrainPop gives my students a wealth of information through short, colorful, and informative videos and quizzes. We love the characters on the site as well!
