My Students

Do you remember being in elementary school and your teacher would handout worksheet after worksheet? Help my students learn basic comprehension skills and independence in a new and exciting way.

We are a community of 32 first graders in a Title I school in Oregon.

We are learning how to read, develop important comprehension skills, and increase our independence as learners. Our district does not give a classroom budget for teachers to use to purchase supplies or materials for the classroom.

My Project

As a first grade teacher, I am always looking for new and exciting ways to engage my students in reading. First grade is the most important year for learning how to read. These wireless headphones, book and CD sets by Ezra Jack Keats, Gail Gibbons and Eric Kimmel will not only improve comprehension skills and help them become independent learners; they will be developing a love for reading.

Please help my students not be bored by yet another worksheet.
