My Students

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!" -Dr. Seuss My students are excited to learn and to grow. And I am excited for the opportunities I can give them by teaching them to read and teaching a desire for knowledge.

My classroom is full of students who are eager to learn and to be exposed to exciting new opportunities.

They are a very diverse group of children from a low income neighborhood. We are part of a turn-around school for historically low performance. But we are here to change that! All of my students come to school with enthusiasm and lots of energy!

My Project

My students need a new classroom rug. Can you imagine listening to a teacher read a story and sitting on the tile floor with fellow classmates poking or kicking you by accident? Kindergartners need a spacious place to gather for calendar, instruction, reading and sharing. Students will learn about new kinds of texts, stories, and videos, while also beginning to learn how to form an opinion and share it with others. The classroom carpet is perfect for small and large group activities.

Our classroom carpet will be used for reading, questioning, instruction, centers, and partner work.

A new rug will give my students the opportunity to be engaged and participate without distractions. We all need a space of our own to learn and explore and a classroom carpet will allow plenty of room for all my students to engage and participate.
