Narrative Bead Collage, A Therapeutic Approach to Art

Help me give my students beads and bead making tools to create narrative beads for our SEL learning goals. I would like to teach my students how to use therapeutic art to promote mindfulness.

My Project

Bead collage is a versatile and effective form of therapeutic art. Therapeutic art equips students with essential skills like self-awareness, empathy, relationship building, and stress management. This technique can also be a tool for helping my students to build self-esteem and confidence. It allows them to explore their creativity while developing new skills.

The process of creating something beautiful and unique can be empowering and can help individuals to feel a sense of accomplishment.

My students will use items like the various bead kits, beading wire, tools, and styles of beads to tell a story. They can use different colors to represent different characters or emotions. They can also use different shapes to represent different objects or places. Even patterns or designs can be created to represent different themes or ideas.

My students are amazingly creative and having a safe environment for them to express themselves is crucial to their developmental growth.
