My students need 3 Apple iPad Minis for use in our listening center, to supplement our Language Arts curriculum, and for enrichment of other curriculum.
My classroom is place where all students are invested learning. Students will take charge of their own growth by exploring literacy for almost 2 hours a day, and I want them to thrive during this time, so that they can become the life long learners we need in this world.
This school year I will have 12 students in my class.
They come from an area where technology is not always available to them at home, as many students live in extremely rural areas. Students also come from low socioeconomic families and their learning will be benefited greatly with the introduction of technology. I believe that the excitement factor of learning with iPads will help boost their love of learning, and will keep them working hard throughout the whole school year!
My Project
With the availability of 3 classroom iPad Minis, students will be able to enjoy a listening center during The Daily 5 literacy structure that will improve their comprehension and fluency. Students will also use these iPads to enrich their curriculum, whether it is in Language Arts, Math, Science, or Social Studies. This use of technology will allow them to explore ideas, go beyond what is expected, and it will set them ahead in our world where technology is becoming only more prominent.
If funded, this project will allow my students to thrive in 5th grade.
They will explore new ideas, enrich their learning, and become 21st century learners who can take their learning into their own hands. This will create lifelong learners, which is what education is all about.
