My students need 2 laptops, 4 pair of headphones, print supplies and an iPod Touch to engage in interactive, core subject instruction in a multimedia environment.

My Students

The heart of this proposal is a request to give our classroom tools to provide rigorous and engaging core subject instruction in a multimedia environment. Students have learned keyboarding, collaborative writing, writing organization, and multimedia production.

My students are in a school that falls within the "moderate poverty" designation.

They are bright, creative and hard working. My first degree was in technology so I have enjoyed incorporating technology into all subject areas (preparing students for their future, not our past).

My Project

With the technology proposed in this request, students will be able to practice and develop the skills they are learning on an actual, up to date technology. We would like to acquire 2 laptops and a portable smart devices to engage in interactive lessons. Students will progress through math lessons at their own pace (and with individualized adjustments to difficulty). Students will practice writing using cloud-based platforms. Students will engage in the on-line portion of our core reading program. As a multi-media producer I will continue to create new technology-based activities for my students. Students have the ability to create presentations on devices and then print wirelessly with an in class wireless printer. The print cartridge allows students to print their work.

Funding this project will help to educate the students in my classroom for the future they will face.

Students will learn relevant academic information at the same time that they gain valuable technology skills.
