My students need DNA fingerprinting supplies, blood type testing kits, and forensic detective lab kits in order to broaden our academic project based learning opportunity.
From the moment you step into my classroom, the students are thriving from hands-on, inquiry-based activities that simulate real world experiences. Introducing Forensics-based concepts will help motivate students who dream to enter this career, and they will thrive in their future endeavors.
My high school is moving towards a more college and career ready environment by providing real hands-on experience to students through academy pathways very similar to a college atmosphere.
Students are able to pick an academy pathway stemming from Health and Life Sciences, Global Business and Entrepreneurship, STEM, and many others that are intriguing to them. We are expanding our elective courses to provide a more enriched learning environment for the students. We will be offering Forensics Science, and there has been a large demand for this class to be offered, which also means the demand for enrichment activities and supplies that will stimulate real world meaning and provide a hands-on experience for them the minute they step into the classroom. We have a diverse multicultural student demographic population. Students will have an amazing opportunity to experience Forensics with the help of your donations and caring abilities. My Project
Students will be able to use these supplies to simulate crime scene investigations, learn how DNA fingerprinting works in helping capture a person who has committed a crime, as well as how DNA paternity/maternity testing is completed. Students will also learn about ballistics and the impact of crimes to a community. Students will be educated on the impact of drugs and toxicology reports and how they can affect the life of a person. Students will be educated on how fire and arson reports are investigated as well as how this applies to the real world. Students will experience guest speakers as well as take field trips to see this field of work in action.

Not only will the impact be felt at the local high school, but through the other cluster schools as well as we all transition to academy-based project learning. Students will become educated on how crime investigation are determined as well as stimulate target observation and problem solving skills as well as incorporate trivia to review class material or highlight historical cases and people.
