My Students

In this world of modern technology I am providing my students with the ability to learn how to use this technology to improve their education. The technology isn't going away. In fact, it is getting more and more complex. I give my students the tools to use it and succeed in life.

My students are members of one of the top public schools in the nation.

They are all hardworking students who have education as a priority in their lives. The majority of our graduating seniors will be going to a four year university with many going to such prestigious universities as Cal Berkley, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, UCLA, Duke, Notre Dame, etc. My students are the Freshmen who will one day become those graduating seniors bound for such prestigious institutions of higher learning. My class is where they learn so many of the valuable skills that will allow them to succeed and head towards that bright future they all so desire and deserve. The skills they learn here are ones that they will carry with and use for the rest of their lives both in education and beyond.

My Project

The class I teach is Geography and Reference Skills with an emphasis on Reference Skills. My class fulfills the district's technology graduation requirement because we make use of so much technology in my classroom. I teach my students how to use the vast resources around them to become better students. In my classroom we have twenty computers that the students use for research, writing reports, making presentations and other amazing projects. I teach my students how to use many of the different programs available on computers such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Publisher, Access and others. We also focus on proper research methods and citing our sources. The last major focus of my class is public speaking and learning how to present information to others. All of these assignments and projects are not possible without the basic input devices that are needed to operate the computers in our class. The ones we have right now are falling apart and need to be replaced.

The great thing about donating to this project is that you are not just helping one group of students.

You are making a difference in the lives of students for the next ten years. The keyboards and mice will last for many years and be used by many students. These resources will allow me to continue to teach my students how to use the technology that has become such a huge part of our lives and will continue to be so. These resources will help my students be successful today and in the future.
