My students need 2 wireless microphones so that they can be heard in performing plays and musicals.

My Students

Our students love to perform plays and musicals. It improves their self-esteem and insures confidence. In order to be heard, students need to be miked.

Our student body has over 50% of it's families living in poverty.

Because of this, many of our students do not get to experience the "extras" like going to musicals or plays. We have built a tradition of performing musicals and plays in our school, and would like to have better equipment so that would can improve on the quality of our performances.

My Project

There are many things that students learn in school and there are many things that are forgotten over the years. That cannot be said of quality experiences that the students have when they perform. I always hear enthusiastic remarks about past plays and memories that arise from that experience. Having enough adequate microphones will allow all the speakers to be heard and ensure a better performance.

We have been so fortunate to have received two microphones in the past.

We do need a few more to perform plays where there are more characters. Our parent organization has supported the plays and musicals by purchasing a stage and a sound system ten years ago. Now that we are a school that has a high poverty rate, we are looking to grants to help us continue our tradition and expand on it. Let more children's' voices be heard!
