My students need coins, paper money, cash register, money centers, and money puzzles to use during our math unit on money!

My Students

Ever try learning about money with someone just showing it to you and not letting you feel and manipulate it in your hands?

My students love math and using materials in math that they can actually hold and touch.

They are first graders at a title one school. Many of these students come from a low socio-economic background and don't have materials of their own to learn about money.

My Project

These resources are so vital in teaching my students about money. Money is vital for any socio-economic group. They need to know how to count it, how to spend it, how to save it, and what it's used for. I will be able to give each student a pouch of money to use and manipulate as we simulate a class store as well as many other things. My students also need a Match & Learn Money Center and Money Instant Learning Center, as well as some other resources.

My project is so important, because who doesn't like handling money?

My students need to know the value of each coin and bill and the importance of how to count the money, give correct change, etc.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
