My Students

Help us increase our muscular strength and endurance throughout the school year. Our school needs more access to free weights and objects that will promote physical fitness and focused balance throughout our circuit training lessons.

Our school is made up of an amazingingly diverse group of students with unique needs because we combine general education, special education, and gifted programs to promote individual strengths and focused instruction on areas of needs.

They love physical education and our school makes efforts to increase physical fitness and lifelong wellness concepts throughout the curriculum.

My Project

Students will be able to explore multiple strength training exercises for the upper body, core, and lower body performing free weight activities using a weighted bar. The weights are varied in size, easy for students for special needs to manipulate, and can be stored efficiently and quickly in the limited space for our equipment storage. Children aged 5-15 will be able to explore different movements while focusing on form and breathing to increase strength in major muscle groups. The wobble board is important for improved balance, focus, and core strength. It is especially useful for some of our students who have limited sight and need proprioceptive stimulation to promote stability for daily activities.

The students will be motivated to practice health and wellness activities that will dramatically improve their self-esteem, focus, and muscular coordination in sports and recreational activities throughout the year.
