My Students

Our students are a group of third, fourth, and fifth grade students from a inner city public school in West Virginia.

We have intervention groups from these classrooms that we have divided the students into to work on math concepts. Out students are willing to learn and give each day their best.

My Project

We need these math materials so that we can push our students to achieve their best on the upcoming statewide assessment. Our students have group time each day for 30 minutes and then we have an after school group where we reinforce the ideas that we taught during the day. By having these additional manipulatives and materials available, the students will be able to use a variety of strategies to learn math.

These materials will assist our students by having more ways to work on certain strategies that they are working on in the classroom.

Worksheets can be redundant and boring, but having new and exciting games and books that they can use themselves, will help make the students more interested in the concepts we are striving to increase their scores.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
