Math Skills for the 21st Century Learner

My students need two computers in the classroom to independently work on targeted math skills. As 21st Century Learners, math skills are essential for a successful future.

My Students

If you're reading this Donors Choose request, you have access to a computer and the Internet. Imagine if you didn't have this ability.

My students attend a Title 1 school that is 98% free and reduced priced lunch.

They do not have access to the luxuries that many of us probably take for granted. One of those luxuries is a computer and Internet access at home. In order to help our 21st Century Learners, I need more than one working computer in my classroom. Please help me give my students access to the skills they need to learn in order to be successful.

My Project

Having these laptops in my classroom will allow my students to have independent, individual, targeted math lessons every day, if needed, via educational websites. There are times during the day where my students could be getting extra lessons, but we don't have the technology to allow it. Not only will my students be able to work on needed math skills, but they will also be able to focus on reading strategies. These math and reading skills, combined with improved computer skills will help make my students ready to succeed in a 21st Century world.

Again, my students do not have access to the luxuries, that we take for granted, like a computer and Internet access.

Help me create the foundation of a successful future in the 21 Century world by allowing my students to work on individual math and reading skills with these two computers.
