My Students

Can you remember asking your teacher, "Why do we need to learn this?" My students need meaningful, life-applicable interactions with mathematics. They are very enthusiastic learners who need to see and experience how math applies to their world.

My students are a group of intelligent, driven, and creative minds ready to interact with the world around them.

They attend a Title I school and are predominantly from low income or poverty level homes. Given meaningful interactions with learning provides them momentum to strive harder in their academics and fuels their curiosity for more.

My Project

Provided with your generous donation of measurement and probability manipulatives my students will participate in our very own fourth grade Math Olympics! They will get to engage in activities and competitions that will build their understanding of the concepts while allowing them to view real-life applications of the skills. This will give them wonderful memories of meaningful math to hopefully inspire them to build a love of math.

Provided with the challenge of competing in a global economy necessitates creative and innovative learners.

With your generosity, I will be able to provide exciting mathematical experiences to spark student creativity and hopefully fuel a love of math to enable them to grow into the life-long learners they will need to be in their future work environment.
