2nd graders will experience learning like never before! Instead of reading about famous inventors, they'll BECOME engineers & create their own businesses. Students will use the MakerBot 3D printer to develop innovative products they design and market. Best of all...it will be mobile!
Our students are creative, they learn through doing and they're becoming increasingly tech-savvy.
We want to foster these traits and enhance their "possibility thinking" by putting the power of a MakerBot 3D printer in their hands. Students are already using tools like the iPad to think critically, communicate, and collaborate.
When our kids leave elementary school, we want them to have had the best experience ever...without limits. Our community has been so supportive. We see this project as a means to personalize student learning like never before!
Students thrive when learning through doing and creating. We know that the MakerBot will help them learn valuable skills in a way that a worksheet could never do.
My Project
Using a Mobile MakerSpace approach, the direct benefits of a new MakerBot 3D printer will not be limited to my students alone. I'm collaborating closely with colleagues to ensure each and every student has the opportunity to experience the power of innovation/creativity.
Activities our students will engage in include Project Based Learning (PBL), Genius Hour/Passion Time, Business Adventures, and more! The MakerBot 3D printer will bring creative writing to life and if students can dream it, they can achieve it!
This project is a game-changer!
We are preparing kids to thrive today and excel tomorrow and in doing so, need cutting-edge technology to support that vision.
We want school to be a place that kids don't want to leave...a place where they're so excited to come each day that dinner time conversation is filled with creative conversations about engineering feats, collaborative challenges, and creative design.
The MakerBot 3D printer will impact the way kids learn in our school.
