Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What child does not like to write on the board in a classroom? This classroom set of double sided picture story, write and wipe white boards, will allow each child to do just that, but at their very own desks! Additionally, they would be allowed to do it throughout the entire school day!

My second grade students come from loving homes with supportive parents.

The Donors Choose official designation for my school is that of a high poverty area. Additionally, most of the students at school are on free meal plans for both breakfast and lunch. Finally, many of these children are English Learners. The students at this school have appreciated the supplies and equipment that have been provided by both individual and corporate donations from people like you. Thank you in advance for not only considering my projects, but those of my fellow teachers, and neighboring schools in my area. All acts of kindness are most appreciated, and again I thank you.

My Project

The resources for this project include a classroom set of double sided picture story write and wipe boards, erasers, and write and wipe broad tip markers. My students will be able to use these for multiple subjects throughout the entire school day. This project will change my students' lives for the better because it will allow me to instantly monitor student knowledge and understanding by checking the work presented on the boards. Being that these boards are blank on one side and are lined for writing on another, will allow me to adapt them for the subject I am teaching. My English learners will benefit from being able to draw a picture to match a story they wrote on the composition side of these boards. In conclusion, students will be able to learn the multiple subjects of the second grade curriculum, using a hands-on approach with the requested materials proposed for this project.

Donors, I ask you to think about a time in the past that you wanted to write on the board in your classroom.

Your contributions to this project will allow my students to do that on a daily basis with their very own double sided picture story, write and wipe board, marker, and eraser. The broad impact will be instant feedback from the monitoring of student knowledge and understanding. This will be possible as I walk around the room, checking results presented on the boards.
