Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As an Educator I want to implement Classroom Fitness Breaks, which can help students "Get Active" with focus fun and easy exercise for the classroom. Being active will boost concentration and get students ready to Learn.

I have 15 boys and 5 girls in my classroom.

They come from poverty stricken neighborhoods. They come from various cultural and economic backgrounds. This offers a great challenge for me as well as for the students. It also offers a great opportunity for people to work together and learn about others and their way of life. My students attend an inner city Title I school that struggles to keep and maintain adequate equipment and supplies.

My Project

Students will use the iPad Mini and case daily to increase their movement and exercise in the classroom. The students can use many apps that will display a wide range of movements to do. In addition the students can act those movements out. The iPad Mini will also provide unique ways to promote their creativity. Students will also be able to make videos telling the importance of being healthy and exercising each day. We can then post these videos on our website, share with other classes, and our Pen Pal across the globe. Getting Active with Running & Jumping Skills Kit and Swing & Catch Cups exercise games motivates students to get in shape while also helping them focus their attention and develop self control.

The activities are designed to fit into key parts of the daily schedule and boost students' heart rates and increase their brain's capacity to learn.

It is important to empower our students and give them the chance to succeed. Your donations will make a tremendous impact on my students.
