This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in AP Physics involves a combination of lecture, class discussion, and problem solving.

We are an urban school with a really special set of students.

We served some of the brightest students in our district. We are also a majority minority district, and this school is over 60% minority students. Many of them will be the first in their family to go to a College or University.

My Project

Our school is involved in a project to supply all of our students with a laptop computer. The SD cards that we are requesting will be used to provide the students with a number of additional materials that they will be able to use on the laptops, including several hours of subject based video that was recorded at the school and a number of study packets. All of this will help them to be ready for the class, and also to help prepare them for the AP Physics examinations.

As with all urban schools, finding the budget for extras for the students is very difficult with the economy still in recovery.

Your gift will help us provide the students with access to materials that they would otherwise not have, and improve there chances of a good score on the AP Physics exam, and thus increase there chances of getting into a top University.
