My Students

According to www.stopbullying.com, promoting a a safe and supportive environment as well as making sure students interact in a safe manner help prevent bullying.

My students are 3rd graders who attend an inner city charter school.

Although they are children at heart, they often face adult problems. Everyday we work on skills such as how to be a good friends, positive interactions and how to resolve conflicts.

My Project

I am asking for help providing four bean bag chairs in my classroom as well as two books that address bullying for children. Even though bean bags might seem like an unusual request, I ask that you think back to childhood and how relaxing (an more importantly non-threatening) they are. This project will provide the seating needed to create a special area in my classroom for students to work on these life skills.

It is my hope that you will consider funding this project.

I believe that providing a place for my students to interact in a positive (rather than confrontational) manner as well as providing a safe place to resolve conflict will impact my students lives in astronomical ways.
