My Students

I teach second grade in a high-need school in NC. The students don't have a lot and it is difficult to teach from an overhead projector that overheats and turns off whenever it gets tired. Technology is what motivates these kids and "seeing is believing" and the "Bigger the Better!"

Wow!

I couldn't keep my eyes off it!! Imagine how the kids will feel when they can see everything, I mean everything, as big as the wall! While our caterpillars are nibbling on leaves or our mealworms are waking from a long winters nap we can see all the details. Since money is tight for the families and the school, the visual presenter will replace all those paper copies and overhead transparencies. What a relief! I know the kids will be SO excited, hey I'm a grown-up and I wanted to stay all day watching what could be placed under the camera next. Imagine what our Science/Math materials will look like now!!!!!!! WOW!

My Project

This will allow me and the students to present information clear and precise. There will be no more, "I can't see. Can I show my work now? Let me see! What does it look like? I would like to have a closer look." Students WILL be motivated to participate and show off their work to the class. In second grade we love to share strategies for solving problems and do science experiments. I have seen the "Elmo" being used in my school and the difference it has made in the level of student engagement. We have to keep these little Scientist exploring, as they are the future!

Please contribute to this project, as it will be used for many years to come... over and over in so many ways!

My kids will be saying, "I See!" instead of, "I can't see!" Thank you in advance for making a life changing decision to donate to this project.
